The Women’s Studies Community-Based Service Learning Resource

Jennifer Mittelstadt, Assistant Professor in the Departments of History and Women’s Studies, and  Natalie Jolly, doctoral candidate in the Departments of Rural Sociology and Women’s Studies, have created a website which serves as a resource for Women's Studies instructors at Penn State. This web-based resource includes a how-to manual and bibliography as well as a local resource guide to be used within the context of the Introduction to Women’s Studies courses at Penn State.  The web-based handbook offers instructors a variety of strategies, sample projects and suggested student readings.  Drawing on a number of current publications, this resource provides a theoretical foundation for understanding the potential for bringing public scholarship in to the introductory Women’s Studies classroom.
