  Minor in Civic and Community Engagement

  • Place the values that shape the world about us and our work at Penn State into a meaningful context
  • Discover paths to bring knowledge and talent to bear on social justice, public health, education, and the good work of  democratic community 

 

The Minor in Civic and Community Engagement, established in 2005, is an 18 credit program available at Penn State Delaware County, Erie, Greater Allegheny, Schuylkill, and University Park.  


Engage in a meaningful curriculum that includes Foundations of Civic & Community Engagement (CAS 297/YFE 211); 3 to 6 credits of fieldwork; 3 to 6 credits focused on public issues and democracy; 3 to 6 credits selected in consultation with public scholarship faculty; and a 3 credit capstone.
